Copiah County Medical Center (CCMC) Announces Surgery Nurse Anna Phillips, RN, as CCMC Employee of the Quarter Second Quarter 2020
Hazlehurst, Mississippi - Never apologize for being too nice. That's Copiah County Medical Center's (CCMC) surgery nurse Anna Phillips' daily work and life philosophy, and one reason she is the CCMC Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2020.
Phillips has been employed with CCMC eight years as a registered nurse in both the Med-Surgery department and currently works in the hospital's Surgery department, where she assists physicians in outpatient surgeries. She is also Wound Care Certified (WCC).
"Anna is always willing to go the extra mile; she is always happy with a sunny and upbeat attitude. The kindness she shows her patients is unprecedented," said CCMC Chief Nursing Officer Teresa Harvey. "The way she cares for her patients, her peers, and every customer who comes through the hospital doors with their families are treated with the upmost respect and concern. Her actions do not go unnoticed; in fact, she exemplifies what we are accomplishing here daily at Copiah County Medical Center."
CCMC CEO Ben Lott echoed Harvey's comments. "Anna has proven herself to be an amazing team player, who is greatly appreciated by her fellow staff. She is consistent, extremely friendly, and ready to work with a positive and pleasant attitude, which are always appreciated. Her unselfish dedication to the hospital and community and her work ethics are an inspiration to us all."
Phillips is responsible for tasks that range from preparing patients for surgical procedures to preparing and cleaning outpatient surgery suites before and between cases, and so much more. At the end of the day, she performs all aspects of quality patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety.
Phillips received the award in recognition and appreciation for her commitment to excellence and quality patient care, while ensuring the goals and mission of the hospital are continuously being met and exceeded.
About the CCMC Employee of the Quarter Award Program
Part of what makes Copiah County Medical Center successful is the team, every team member is committed to the success of our hospital and our patients. As a way of saying thank you to those employees who personify CCMC's mission and values, hospital officials created the CCMC Employee of the Quarter program.
Each quarter, directors recommend their fellow employees who they think should be nominated for CCMC Employee of the Quarter. A committee of peers then consider how well the recommended employees uphold the hospital's mission, vision and values as well as other outstanding work performance qualities. At the end of the year, CCMC will recognize an Employee of the Year among the four Employee of the Quarter winners, a practice that serves as a constant reminder that CCMC truly appreciates all fellow employees' commitment to the success of the team.
