Biography:

Fred McDonnell as born in Jackson, MS and is a graduate of Ole Miss. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He completed his residence in family practice at Southwest Family Practice in Fort Worth, Texas. After completing his residency, he returned to his hometown of Hazlehurst and joined Copiah Medical Associates in 1977. His faither, Dr. T.F. McDonnell started this practice in the 1940’s.
Dr. McDonnell is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice and is an active member. He is a member of the State Medical Association and American Medical Association. He has served as the Chief of Staff at Copiah County Medical Center on many occasions and has served in many numerous capacities there. He has also served as Medical Director for Pine Crest Guest Home for many years. Dr. McDonnell continues to practice in a reduced manner and enjoys his country life and tree farm as well as time with family and friends.
Copiah Medical Associates has been part of his family since the 1940’s and his is very proud of this fact. He is also proud that his son had also joined the practice in 2012.
