Biography:

Lauren Thompson is a Family Nurse Practitioner who practices at Copiah County Medical Center, the Crystal Springs, and the Hazlehurst Clinics. Lauren is a 2011 graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. After teaching for a year at Indianola Academy, Lauren attended nursing school at UMMC in Jackson. She then practiced in the Pediatric ICU at UMMC for 3 years, and on the pediatric floor at Merit Health River Oaks for 2 years while she resumed her education at Delta State University and earned her masters in nursing.
Lauren is currently accredited through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. A Mississippi Delta native, Lauren is married to Tuff Thompson of Hazlehurst. The couple have two children and enjoy time working together on their farm of cattle and horses. They are members of Antioch Baptist Church and Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers.
Lauren states, “My passion in healthcare is to better each patient that I see every visit. I feel that each and every patient deserves the best care available, and my goal is to maximize their outcomes with every encounter. I have a passion to teaching and helping my patients fully understand each disease process as well as how we can full and completely care for that diagnosis.”
